Q: Is it called Kung Fu or Wushu?
A: Kung Fu and Wushu are primarily the same. The Term Kung Fu means hard work but in America people have associated Kung Fu or Gung Fu as chinese martial arts. Wushu or Kung Fu is mainly separated into two disciplines: Internal and External.

2015 WUSHU U.S. NATIONAL TEAM TRIALS
Wushu, also known as Kung-Fu, is a Chinese Martial Art and is one of eight finalist sports being considered for inclusion at the upcoming 2020 Olympics in Japan. It consists of different techniques that involve many acrobatic spins and flips along with power. Former wushu celebrities include Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan and Jet Li, who practice it in Hollywood action movies.
Congratulations!!! A lot of thanks to our hardworking sports photographer Bruce Yeung, the Golden State Championship and the US Team Trials 2015 is officially covered by United States largest sports media, "Sports Illustrated". One of Phoenix Wushu Academy student has been selected to be a member of the US Wushu Traditional Team, her name is Jane Ho.

2011 - Students take home gold and silver awards at 2011 ICMAC
We are very proud to announce that our students placed 5 Gold medals and 3 Silver medals at the 2011 International Chinese Martial Arts Championship hosted in Las Vegas.
